WIndows 10 'configures' my Office 2010 applications and Visio 2007 at launch time. I am running Office 2010 and Visio 2007 on Windows 10 Pro (32-bit), version 1511, OS Build 10586.122. Windows 7, 64-bit.Hi, I have tried literally dozens of times over several days and hours repeating the steps to change the registry and each time I get the same error specifying yet another file to change permissions on. This is ridiculous. Why, if I am the administrator, wheninstalling office, do I not get permission to change my own registry? This seems to be a Windows operating system fault.
Also, why won't windows allow me to select multiple or all registry files to give permissions to at once instead of one at a time? Some background:Initially, I had installed Office 2010 Home and Student as an 'upgrade' from Office 97 and all went fine. However, while away from home, and without my 2010 install disc, I had a problem with my computer while away studying for my MBA which caused me to needto reinstall my software.

Everything else reinstalled just fine and I attempted to reinstall office on a 3 month trial from the Microsoft site, just to hold me over until I got home and even that would not work. When I returned home, I tried to reinstalloffice 2010 with my disc to no avail.I am at my witts end. I have tried every applicable solution out there including the so-called fix-it.exe files. This has me seriously considering making the switch to Apple. I am so aggravated by this. I spent $149 on the software and it will not load!I appreciate any solution you can give me.Below is the warning I get:'Microsoft Office Home and Student 2010 encountered an error during setup.Error 1402.
